National Tree Day

30 July 2016

This year we planted in Red Gum Reserve and provided morning tea and a BBQ afterwards.

It was a pleasant, if cold, mid-winter Sunday morning in a beautiful area surrounded by very old River Red Gums. It was quite a difficult site, steep in places and an obstacle course of rocks and rabbit burrows. However the crowd set to work enthusiastically.

We were very pleased to have 130+ participants! There were five Scout and Cub Troops. Thankyou to all for your great work in putting over 1000 trees, shrubs and grasses into the ground.

BFS Landcare member David Clift generously agreed to be the site co-ordinator this year and he did an admirable job assisted by our members.

Come again next year!
