World Habitat Day – Beating the Baddies
Sunday 5 October 2013
Ten willing and energetic Batesford Fyansford Stonehaven landcare group members helped the custodians of the Dog Rocks Flora and Fauna sanctuary to ‘Beat the Baddies’. Two hours were spent pulling and burning highly invasive, mature Boneseed.
A significant area was cleared to make way for natural regeneration of any one of the 84 indigenous plants recorded by Mark Trengove Ecological Services in a study conducted in 2012/2013.
The delicious morning tea provided by members was a highlight with David Head and Robert Percy being the lucky recipients of the bottles of red wine.
