Family Fun Morning on Mother's Day
Sunday 12 May 2013
Families were invited into the Sanctuary to spend the morning surrounded by bird life in the fresh air and sunshine helping us with one of our major tasks, pulling the boneseed weed.
On this Mother’s Day morning it was great to see some new faces of all ages interested in our project and willing to be part of our working bee. Both mothers and fathers, and a sprinkling of children, worked with us and the smaller ones made Mother’s Day cards at our craft table.
The reward was a delicious morning tea and three lucky ticket prizes, two won by children.
We also welcomed some volunteers from the Geelong Field Naturalists and Conservation and Land Management students from the Gordon TAFE.
